Maryam Atai

FOUNDER

Maryam Atai is a graduate of sociology and a passionate human rights activist based in the United Kingdom. With a strong academic foundation in understanding social structures, inequalities, and the dynamics of marginalized communities, Maryam has dedicated her work to advocating for the rights of women and children—particularly those in Afghanistan, a country that has faced decades of conflict, instability, and social injustice.

Maryam’s activism is deeply rooted in her belief that education is a fundamental human right and a powerful tool for breaking the cycle of poverty and oppression. She has continuously voiced her concern for Afghan children, especially girls, who are deprived of access to quality education due to ongoing conflict, cultural barriers, and systemic discrimination. Her efforts focus on creating pathways for children to attend school, access learning resources, and build brighter, more hopeful futures for themselves and their communities.

In addition to her work with children, Maryam is a steadfast advocate for Afghan women, many of whom face immense challenges including gender-based violence, lack of legal rights, and economic dependency. She actively supports initiatives that empower women to gain financial independence, access vocational training, and participate in decision-making roles within their families and communities. Her mission is to help Afghan women lead lives of dignity, strength, and self-sufficiency—free from fear and systemic marginalization.

Through her work, Maryam continues to be a voice for those who are often unheard, using her platform to raise awareness, mobilize support, and collaborate with organizations and individuals who share her vision for a just, equitable society. Her commitment to humanitarian values, education, and women’s empowerment makes her a respected advocate in the global effort to support the people of Afghanistan.
